Inmaculada Concepción La Inmaculada Concepción de María es el dogma de fe que declara que María fue preservada de todo pecado, desde el momento su concepción. El papel de María de ser la madre del Hijo de Dios la obligaba a estar libre de pecado y mácula. En la parte alta del Portal, la Virgen está de pie sobre un pedestal que representa una Linterna de Tres Puntas, como símbolo de la Santísima Trinidad. Las estatuas fueron realizadas por el escultor Llorenç Matamala i Piñol según composición y dirección de Gaudí.
