San Felipe Neri San Felipe Neri, El Apóstol de Roma (Florencia, el 22 de julio de 1515 - Roma, 26 de mayo de 1595). Pasó casi toda su vida en Roma practicando la caridad y dedicándose a la educación de la juventud. Al no poder ir a las misiones de las Indias, fundó hospitales y la Congregación del Oratorio, que tantos sacerdotes santos y sabios dio al mundo. Jamás aceptó dignidad alguna que le fuera ofrecida por los papas. Murió en 1595 y fue declarado Patrono de la Ciudad de Roma. La estatua fue modelada y realizada por el escultor Joan Seguranyes. St.Philip Neri St.Philip Neri, the Apostle of Rome (Florence on July 22, 1515 - Rome, May 26, 1595). He spent his entire life in Rome practicing charity devoted to youth education. Unable to go to the missions of the Indies, he founded hospitals and the Congregation of the Oratory, that so many holy priests and wise men gave to the world. Never accepted any dignity that he was offered by the popes. He died in 1595 and was declared Patron of the City of Rome. The statue was modeled and performed by the sculptor Joan Seguranyes. |
