San Ignacio de Loyola Íñigo López de Regalde que tomó el nombre de Ignacio de Loyola (Azpeitia, 24 de octubre de 1491 - Roma, 31 de julio de 1556). Santo español de Guipúzcoa, soldado, poeta y religioso católico, patrón de Guipúzcoa y Vizcaya. Fundador de la Compañía de Jesús y el primer general de la orden. Ejerció un fecundo apostolado con sus escritos y con la formación de discípulos, que habían de trabajar intensamente por la reforma de la Iglesia. La estatua fue modelada y realizada por el escultor Manuel Cusachs i Xivillé.
